When confidential information is embedded in an otherwise public court file, the Clerk’s office may redact the protected data before releasing the record. Requests for sealed or confidential records typically require a court order.

Estate Administration
When a decedent leaves titled assets in their name alone, the estate typically requires probate for legal transfer to heirs or beneficiaries. Georgia law provides for both formal and summary administration procedures. The Probate Court oversees the estate to ensure debts are paid and property is properly distributed. Georgia standard probate forms are available through the Probate Court’s website.

The custodian of a will must file the original document with the Probate Court in the county where the decedent resided. The Probate Court validates the will and initiates the administration process.
Guardianships and Conservatorships

Concerns about potential guardianship fraud — including missing money, suspicious transactions, or conflicts of interest — can be reported to the appropriate authorities.
