Georgia Court Records

The Georgia State Courts website aims to present the public with information about Georgia's judicial system, identifying and explaining the nature and roles of the various courts. While some courts are confined to the city level, others operate at the county or state level.

These pages highlight how the state groups its courts, between those with general trial jurisdiction, such as the Superior Courts and State Courts, and those with specialized functions, including Probate, Juvenile, and Municipal courts. Georgia designates the Supreme Court of Georgia as the highest appellate court and the source of the official rules governing access to judicial records.

Under the Georgia Open Records Act (ORA) and Uniform Superior Court Rule 21, citizens have the legal right to request, inspect, or duplicate government records, including court documents. These rights may be restricted in specific instances to protect the parties to the case. The public can use the information on this website to learn how to access Georgia Court Records. However, the available information does not constitute legal advice or official records
